ICTC COOPERATION WITH LINYI CITY, SHANDONG PROVINCE, PEOPLE’S REPUBLIC OF CHINA

India China Trade Centre (ICTC) Cooperation with Linyi City,
Shandong Province, People’s Republic of China

Linyi is a prefecture-level city in the south of Shandong province, People’s Republic of China. As of 2011, Linyi is the largest prefecture-level city in Shandong, both by area and population, Linyi borders Rizhao to the east, Weifang to the northeast, Zibo to the north, Tai’an to the northwest, Jining to the west, Zaozhuang to the southwest, and the province of Jiangsu to the south. The city Linyi literally means “close to the Yi River”.

Administrative Committee of Linyi Trade City has approached ICTC for the cooperation between India and Linyi City for the promotion of Trade and Investment.

Linyi has been authorised as one of the Chinese cities with greatest investment potential by the transnational corporations, one of the 30 Most Focused Cities since the reform and opening up.

Five major industries for development: New- and high-tech industry, manufacturing and processing sector, business service, real estate development and urban area infrastructure construction.

A delegation headed by Mr. Lin Fenghai, Chairman of the Standing Committee of Linyi Municipal People’s Congress along with the representative of industry leaders has visited India and had a fruitful meeting with ICTC at Chennai on 01st and 02nd June 2015.

ICTC has presented the vast opportunities for Chinese investor in India and updated them on various policy initiative take by the Indian Government. The in depth discussion has taken place on various projects for Cooperation.

There are ample opportunities of business for Indian and Linyi Party Committee and Linyi Municipal Government actively encourage and support investment to IT, labor-intensive and capital-intensive industries, manufacturing and processing sector, business service, culture and education, public health, tourism development, social intermediary service, public facilities and infrastructure construction.

ICTC and Linyi City has also signed cooperation MOU for development of Trade and Investment between India and Linyi City.

Mr. Lin Fenghai, has invited ICTC to lead a business delegation to visit Linyi City during the “China (Linyi) International Trade and Logistics Fair” (CLITLF) in October 2015.
